The Senate, fresh from its rancorous but indecisive dispute on a constitutional amendment that would have banned same-sex marital relationship, has actually now used up dispute on a change that would prohibit routine marital relationship. A leading Republican senator stated, 'When you consider how high the divorce rate is, you know there are a great deal of dissatisfied marriages out there in between males and females. I'm not sure continuing to allow them remains in the nationwide interest.' The Democratic whip said, 'In addition to the divorce rate, you have actually got to look at the number of parents are disappointed in the amount of thankfulness their kids reveal and the number of children don't think their parents like them enough. Given that moms and dads normally want more appreciation than their kids can give, and kids often demand more love than most moms and dads can provide, it seems there's an inherent issue with a marriage that can produce children.' President Bush took an unwavering position, saying, 'The type of marriage we allow in America has to set a good example for the children of this terrific nation, and, honestly, I don't believe a great deal of marital relationships out there are hitting that high marker. So I advise the Congress to pass the modification. No more routine marital relationships, say goodbye to bad examples for our children-- it's as simple as that. And the outcome is ensured, due to the fact that, in all probability, there won't be anymore kids.'
