THE POWER OF INTENTIONAL TOUCH

A thoughtful reminder that caring for yourself is a human need—not an indulgence.

In a world where we are constantly connected through phones, email, and social media, many people are experiencing less meaningful, in-person connection. Emerging research surrounding “touch deprivation” is highlighting the important role that safe, welcomed touch may play in our emotional and physical well-being.

Human beings are naturally wired for connection. Healthy touch can communicate comfort, reassurance, and social support. It may also help the body move away from a state of heightened alertness and toward a calmer, more regulated state.

That is one reason a professional massage can feel like more than relief for tired or tense muscles. A peaceful environment, attentive care, and skilled therapeutic touch create an opportunity to slow down, reconnect with your body, and receive care without having to take care of anyone else.

WHEN YOUR BODY IS ASKING YOU TO PAUSE

You may benefit from making time for massage if you have been:

• Carrying persistent muscular tension
• Feeling physically or mentally overstimulated
• Struggling to slow down or fully relax
