Holcare CFT
Hi, my name is Devon Keefe. I am a Craniosacral Fascial Therapist & LMT. This therapy is wonderful for the whole family!
I believe that fascia is overlooked by conventional medicine & is often the missing piece to help return to a better quality of life.

I finally figured out a strategy that meant I barely had to cook for the first couple months postpartum.โฃ
โฃ
Starting at 32 weeks, I prepped meals in bulk so I could have warm, nourishing food ready to go when baby came earth-side. โฃ
โฃ
Less cooking. Less dishes. Less decision fatigue.โฃ

Turns out the path wasnโt random after all.
Interior architecture โ yoga โ personal training โ fascia โ motherhood โ CFT.
For a long time, I thought I was just figuring it out as I went. Looking back, I can see how every chapter was preparing me for the next.
Some seasons taught me about the body. Some taught me about resilience. And motherhood changed everything.
The hardest postpartum season ultimately led me to CFT and to work that finally felt like this is where Iโm supposed to be.
The path definitely wasnโt straight, but somehow it led me right here. And I wouldnโt change it. ๐ค
Welcome to Holcare CFT.

You are going to notice a common theme hereโฆ babies need lots of freedom to move. If your baby is tight, a swaddle is likely going to make them tighter. Swaddles will also inhibit your baby from practicing the Moro reflex, also known as the โstartle reflexโ. It is so important for our little ones to practice this reflex or it will not integrate properly. โฃ

But keep it balanced. Babywearing can be wonderful. The skin to skin and proximity is amazing for both of your nervous systems, but babies also need plenty of opportunities to MOVE and EXPLORE. โฃ

Extended pacifier use can contribute to a high and narrow palette which can also cause tension in the intra oral structures. Having a pacifier in all day or thumb sucking can also promote low resting tongue postureโฆ. Aka mouth breathing. โฃ

You have to shower, you have to eat, and you have to get places, but swings, bouncers, loungers can create tension when they are in them for extended periods of time. Babies need LOTS of floor time to wiggle, roll, reach, and explore! โฃ

Crying is communication, and sometimes thereโs more going on beneath the surface:โฃ

This is why taking a full-body approach matters.โฃ
โฃ
The fascial system is an interconnected web throughout the body, so a strain or restriction in one area may contribute to tension or symptoms somewhere else. โฃ
โฃ
What looks like a โtummy issue,โ feeding difficulty, or unexplained fussiness may sometimes be connected to tension elsewhere in the body.โฃ
โฃ
CFT allows us to look at the whole body, not just the symptom and consider how different areas may be connected.โฃ

Save this for later + share with a mama who needs to hear it.
โColicโ was what every provider wanted to diagnose my son with.
At one point, the office we were going to started calling it โPURPLE crying.โ And honestly, it felt like another label for the same thing: your baby cries a lot, and we donโt really know why.
But โcolicโ never felt like an answer to me.
Endless crying.โจNot pooping for days.โจNever seeming content.โจGI distress.โจBody tension.โจReflux day and night.โจWaking every 30 minutes.โจClenched fists.
These symptoms are real. And they are so, so hard.
What I wish more parents were encouraged to ask is not just โHow do we stop the crying?โ but:
What is making my baby uncomfortable?
Babies are incredibly adaptive. When something feels difficult, they find ways to compensate so they can eat, breathe, move, and sleep. And those patterns can continue to influence how their bodies move and function as they grow.
This is a hill I will scream from for the rest of my days:
CFT should be part of the village supporting moms and babies postpartum.
Birth is a massive experience for both of you. You both deserve support afterward.
Experiencing Craniosacral Fascial Therapy (CFT) alongside your baby can provide a gentle space to settle, connect, and address patterns of tension and restriction in the body.
Itโs gentle. Itโs peaceful. Itโs supportive.
And it doesnโt have to be either/or. IBCLCs, OTs, pediatric providers, and other appropriately trained professionals can all be valuable pieces of that village.
Because sometimes โcolicโ isnโt the whole story. ๐ค

Hi! My name is Devon.
I am so glad you are here!
I am a Licensed Massage Therapist who specializes in Craniosacral Fascial Therapy (CFT). The work I do is based off of the teachings of Dr. Barry Gillespie, a periodontist who developed the Gillespie Approach. This approach allows for deep healing by addressing the root cause that lies in the fascia of the craniosacral system.
I fell in love with this therapy for our own family due to its gentle, non-invasive, and effective nature. I have a deep reverence for the body now having over 10 years of experience working with the body in different capacities including personal training, fascial stretch therapy (FST), 500 RYT yoga, Stott pilates certified instructor, and more.
I believe that fascia is overlooked by conventional medicine and is often the missing piece to address you and your familyโs health and wellness issues. I am committed to sharing my practice and knowledge of fascia work in the Venice and Sarasota area.
I hope to meet you and your family soon!
