🧼 Let’s talk about 3 of the most common skincare mistakes I see as a Master Esthetician...especially with my clients trying to fix hyperpigmentation or breakouts.

If your skin is feeling dry, dull, or just not cooperating lately… then one of these might be the reason 👇

🚫Mistake #1: Picking your skin
It's tempting, but picking your skin is one of the WORST skincare habits you can have. It's causes inflammation, delays healing, spreads bacteria, and makes dark spots stick around longer than they need to.

🚫Mistake #2: Over-exfoliating with scrubs
Exfoliants work well when used properly. When you over-use or use a super granulated scrub, it can be very harsh on the skin. The excessive use of scrubs cause micro-tears to the skin and disrupt your protective barrier.

🚫Mistake #3: Neglecting SPF from your routine
This also causes dark spots to get darker.
Without SPF, UV rays trigger more melanin production.. especially in areas already affected by inflammation or acne. That means your spots will deepen, undoing all your hard work. You could be using the best serums, peels, or treatments in the world, but if you’re not protecting your skin, you’re literally re-damaging it every time you step outside. SPF is your skin’s bodyguard. Look for a mineral sunscreen with at least SPF 50 if you're trying to heal hyperpigmentation.
