Before massage! Just came across some old photos of my previous life. I use to really enjoy making builtins and cabinets. I still have the cabinet shop and tools. I just found that massage makes me happier!

Big News!!! As most of you know, I have occasionally run a $45 special to meet new clients. In conversations with these wonderful new clients, the comment I hear the most is that they would love to get more massages if they were priced more affordably.
So, I have decided to keep the $45 rate for the next month and see how it goes! My goal is to help make massage an affordable service that you can enjoy on a regular basis. It's hard to help with neck and shoulder pain if I only see you every six months! Consistency is the key to real improvement!

It's funny how we go through life. Different ideas of what's fun, and what's cool. You meet that special person who's always by your side. And maybe you have kids. If we are fortunate enough to live a long life we get to experience so many different careers. My first job, at McDonalds at 16, paid $1.90 hour. And I was happy to get it! I've worked in restaurants, clothing stores, construction sites, and cabinet shops. I was even a 90 pound jack hammer operator for a while. It builds strong arms! I left the construction world in 1986 to join the VBPD. After retiring, I became an antique dealer traveling between Charlotte NC and Brimfield MA doing large antique shows. After that, I went back to cabinet making. And THEN... I decided to go to massage school! I had been getting regular massages for several years and had I to know what it was like to be giving the massages. One of the things I learned is that it encompasses many of the things I enjoyed the most in all those other jobs. The clothing store work and the antique shows was all about having a good time talking to people you just met. The workout you get doing a massage is not like the jack hammer work but it's definitely a physical workout. And police work, it's all about helping people. Helping them to feel safe and more relaxed in stressful situations. And communication is key in both careers. It's funny that it took me into my sixties to find the career that I absolutely love and enjoy doing every single day!
