(As always i’m in my feels today so i apologize in advance for the sappiness 🤪)

This day feels like a lifetime ago & 1 day ago at the same time. I honestly don’t even have the words to explain just how weird it is knowing that these pictures are 10 years old today. I truly didn’t think i would be here to say that. The months that followed this day were awful physically, mentally and emotionally to say the least. Not being able to walk, eat, take showers or even use the bathroom alone for months is scary at 23. While everyone else was out having fun i was laying in bed wishing i was dead. But today i’m glad i’m still here. 🤍

7 broken bones, a punctured lung, a lacerated kidney, liver & spleen, 1 ambulance ride, 1 helicopter ride, 24 days in the hospital, and 1 coma later - here we are. There isn’t a day that goes by that i’m not reminded of what i went through, whether it’s a random ache or pain, or even just being in the car death gripping my steering wheel.

Reflecting on the last 10 years with my therapist this morning was very emotional. I’m really proud of myself & how far i’ve come physically & mentally and I am grateful to be here today after surviving such a horrific experience.

Thank you to everyone who has been there for me in the past and those who continue to be there for me in the present. I’ll always be forever grateful to the first responders & police officers who cut me out of my car even when i told them to leave me there & that “i can walk from here you’re being dramatic” 😅
