As a licensed cosmetologist, my favorite part was the education—discovering new products, learning what’s next, and seeing the innovation shaping the beauty industry. From meeting incredible founders like Danessa Myricks to trying Dyson’s newest professional dryer, every moment was inspiring.

I’m beyond grateful to have experienced it with one of my good friends ebony e. | washington, D.C. creator , and I already can’t wait for next year. 🖤

NYC beauty supply day was a dream ✨🗽

I stopped by the Store in Hell’s Kitchen and Manhattan Wardrobe Supply on the Upper East Side with my good sis ebony e. | beauty & style enthusiast and creator , and I was truly like a kid in a candy store. 😂

As a working hair & makeup artist, there’s nothing like being surrounded by pro products, specialty tools, and kit essentials that make you feel inspired.

I came looking for a few things and left already planning my next trip because the DMV deserves spaces like this too. We deserve access to resources that support our artistry. 🤎

✨ The journey back to healthy curls starts with one appointment. ✨

Yesterday I met a client who spent years straightening her naturally curly hair. Now she’s ready to embrace her curls again, and we’re doing it the healthy way—not the rushed way. 🤎

Instead of one big chop, we’ve created a customized transition plan that fits her lifestyle. Over the next 9–12 months, we’ll trim about 1–2 inches every 4–6 weeks while keeping her in low-manipulation styles that work for someone in healthcare who also works out regularly.
Our first appointment was all about creating the best foundation:

✂️ Removed about 1.5 inches of damaged ends
💧 Clarifying treatment + hard water treatment (because Virginia water is no joke 😅)
🌀 Finished with her very first Flexi Rod Set

Y’all… she had never had a Flexi Rod Set before. 🥹 She was so excited she immediately called her boyfriend, and hearing him tell her how beautiful her curls looked absolutely made my day. Moments like that are exactly why I love what I do.
Healthy hair isn’t built in a single appointment. It’s built through consistency, education, and a plan that’s realistic for your life. I’m so excited to document this curl restoration journey over the next year and watch her confidence grow along with her curls. 🤍

Trying to balance being a hairstylist, makeup artist, business owner, and content creator is a full-time job on top of a full-time job. Somebody tell me it gets easier. 😭
