Troy Dunn wasn’t just one of Australia’s greatest bull riders — he was one of the toughest all-around cowboys the sport has ever seen.

Most fans remember Troy as the legendary Australian who became the first — and still only — Australian cowboy to win the PBR World Championship, capturing the title in 1998 and helping put Australian bull riding on the world map.

But what many people forget is just how incredibly versatile he really was.

Before dominating the PBR, Troy Dunn won the Australian Ba****ck Riding Championship in the early 1990s, proving he was just as dangerous on a ba****ck horse as he was on a bull. And if that wasn’t enough, he could bulldog a steer with the best of them too.

What made Troy especially unique was his unbelievable recovery ability during a ride. Even when a bull pulled him out to the end of his arm rope — the position where most riders lose control — Troy somehow had the strength, balance, and timing to fight his way back into the middle.

Many riders and stock contractors believed his ba****ck riding background gave him that special ability. In ba****ck riding, cowboys constantly battle to recover from being pulled out of position, and Troy mastered it better than almost anyone.

And one of the greatest Australian cowboys to ever nod his head. ❤️🏆

From dominating the rodeo world to stepping into an entirely new chapter, J.B. Mauney is showing fans that retirement doesn’t mean slowing down — it just means taking on a different kind of challenge.

Widely considered one of the toughest and most fearless bull riders in rodeo history, Mauney built his legacy by doing what many thought was impossible night after night inside the arena. From championship rides to career-defining moments that made him a household name in western sports, he became a true icon of the rodeo world through grit, pain, determination, and pure heart.

Now, after stepping away from professional bull riding following years of injuries and battles inside the arena, Mauney is opening up about what life looks like after one of the most physically demanding careers in sports.

In a new interview, the rodeo legend talked about how his cameo appearance in “Choosin’ Texas” came together, what interested him about the project, and why he’s enjoying the opportunity to explore new ventures outside the rodeo arena. Fans are also getting a closer look at how he’s adjusting to life after retirement, spending more time with family, and embracing a brand new pace of life after years on the road.

But retirement doesn’t mean he’s disappearing from the western world anytime soon.

Mauney also revealed details about an exciting new partnership and fan giveaway that has people talking, proving that his connection with rodeo fans remains just as strong as ever. Even outside the chutes, JB continues to represent the toughness, authenticity, and cowboy spirit that made fans respect him for years.

For many fans, seeing Mauney transition into this next chapter is emotional. After spending decades risking everything every single ride, it’s good to see the legend healthy, happy, and still finding ways to stay connected to the western lifestyle and the fans who supported him throughout his incredible career.
