I made this post 2.5 years ago. It was right after my orientation as a first time College Instructor!! I was leaving the Waukesha County Technical College campus and decided “this is a moment of pride and gratitude.” I was so proud of myself… but my dad was especially proud. He said “WOW! You made one of my dreams come true!! To have one of my children teach in a college!” Haha it makes me laugh because that was so silly for my dad to think that way. But to my dad, an immigrant parent, higher education meant the world to him.

It is bittersweet today as I walk away from an amazing college, a highly respected Cosmetology program, and an incredible team.

My time at WCTC brought me more than a career milestone, it brought me a deep sense of fulfillment. I had the privilege of helping shape future cosmetologists, watching students grow in both skill and confidence, and being reminded every day why I fell in love with this industry in the first place.

While this chapter is coming to a close, I leave with immense knowledge, lifelong memories, and a heart full of pride for what we accomplished together. Thank you WCTC !!
