To take care of yourself you need the right tools, support, motivation and inspiration.
As I move forward with my current workout program which I am on Week 3 of LIIFT4, I realize that while I have taken days off or as the trainer calls it rest days, I recently took about two months off after my last program back in April. Now I usually don’t take that long of a break because I know laziness kicks in and it did or more lack of motivation and lack of inspiration. I’m not going to say I regret it but something else kicked in and then I realized that If I don’t get off my rear and get back into doing my workouts I’ll have to go out and buy new clothes and nothing is wrong with that but I dislike having to go through the process of trying out clothes to make sure it fits and look right. Crazy right? It was hard enough as it was before and with the added weight it’s even more of a struggle.
I have one person in my group and she has been the best supporter and great friend anyone could ask for. My friend, Maridell Standish has been with me since the beginning. We both are doing this together and I know for me it’s about staying fit and active because life has a way of hitting me with the craziest things and I need to be able to move around and be able to get things done. My goal is not to have a medicine cabinet full of meds and granted sometimes it cannot be helped. I knew a guy in my military days that had meds that helped him with a variety of his issues and no I did not know any of his issues but if moving and exercising at least 4 to 5 days a week for at least 30 minutes a day is all I have to do than hey, I’m all for it. Heck, in the military it was worse so what I do now is a piece of cake.
People have called me silly names and poke fun at me but you know what, I am still going to do what I do. This Fit Freak is going to stay active and move because there are still things I want to do in my life and I want to be able to do them.
So, if you care to live your life actively then start moving. Summer is here so get moving.

Getting it done! Double workouts today. It’s nice to have variety in the workout programs that I do. It keeps me from getting bored and it also keeps me going and not wanting to give in and quit. The way the weather has been going lately I have to keep moving and there is no if’s, and’s or but’s about it.

Getting the workouts done one day at a time. Sometimes switching out programs or trainers to change your routine to get a different perspective on your workout schedule makes a difference in how you feel and how you start your day.

Final week of LIIFT4 but not the final week of my journey that never stops. Now to figure out my next program.
Today is rest day. Just as important as the workouts itself. I like to take my walks at the park but this crazy weird weather is not making it easy for me. One day it’ll show it’s going to snow and another it’s going to rain. Please make up your mind, I don’t like walking in the neighborhood and have to watch for cars or other walkers going the opposite direction with their dog. Nothing against people and their dogs, just trying to avoid them when they start to growl. Sometimes the dogs have such strength that their owners can’t hold them back.🤷🏼♀️

Over the course of 7 weeks, I have consistently applied myself, recognizing that proactive effort takes precedence over inaction. It is straightforward to opt for inactivity, but achieving something meaningful necessitates dedication. I made a deliberate decision to prioritize my well-being, acknowledging its significance. Although rest days are essential, I remain committed to my schedule to prevent succumbing to complacency and compromising my objectives. My goal is to engage in diverse activities without the added burden of health-related stress. I am not going to relinquish or abandon this routine. Take pride in yourself and do something for you and your health.

Change takes time. Habits takes time. Don’t feel like you’re a failure because of what you’re hoping for and expecting. It’s the process during the hard work is what’s most important. With life there is always interruptions, life’s happening, schedules. It’s the habit you created by constantly showing up and doing the work. It’s doing what’s best for yourself and your health. Show up for yourself. Yourself will be grateful. Have a great Monday!
