The more you study yourself, the more you begin to understand your patterns, triggers, beliefs, and the parts of yourself that still need healing.

Self-awareness is where transformation begins. It’s learning to recognize when you’re operating from fear, conditioning, or old wounds rather than your authentic self.

The more conscious you become, the more intentional your choices become. You begin responding instead of reacting, breaking cycles instead of repeating them, and making decisions from your higher self rather than your conditioned self.

Know thyself. The inner work is everything.

It’s so interesting looking back at things I wrote years ago and realizing how much of the life I once envisioned is now my reality.

I wrote about wanting someone who would see me for who I truly am, appreciate my spirituality, my philosophy on life, my curiosity, my humor, and my love for the simple things. Someone I could grow with, explore with, learn with, and just enjoy life alongside.

And then there’s the part about dreaming of a simple, cozy life surrounded by nature, books, creativity, and all the little things that bring me joy. It’s pretty amazing seeing how much of that vision has already become my reality and knowing there’s still more to come!

Fastforward to today I see that Rodney is so much of what I described all those years ago. Looking back it’s almost surreal to see how closely my life has aligned with what I once wrote down.

It’s such a beautiful reminder to look back sometimes and recognize how much of what we once wished for has already unfolded. Sometimes we’re so focused on what’s next that we forget we’re already living parts of what we once dreamed of.

I really am living a life that’s aligned with what my soul desires, and I think there’s something so powerful about staying true to yourself, honoring what resonates with you, and following your own path. When you know who you are and what you truly desire, you can manifest a life that reflects that.

And I had to laugh at the part about wanting him to love The Vampire Diaries. I don’t even resonate with watching that anymore, but it’s funny looking back at the little details I thought were important at the time 😹

As I continue on my own spiritual journey, I’ve been reflecting on certain traditions and practices that I’ve participated in throughout my life, often without questioning their deeper meaning.

One of those is celebrating birthdays.

I’ve personally come to view birthday celebrations, particularly the rituals and symbolism surrounding them, differently. From my perspective, they can represent a ritualistic acknowledgment of aging, and that’s simply not something I wish to energetically participate in anymore.

This isn’t coming from a place of fear or judgment, but rather a desire to become more intentional about what I choose to give my energy and attention to.

With that being said, I also want to express that if I don’t wish you a happy birthday, please don’t interpret that as a lack of love, appreciation, or thoughtfulness. I can celebrate your existence, cherish our connection, and be grateful that you’re here without participating in a particular tradition.

I respect everyone’s right to celebrate in whatever way feels meaningful to them, just as I’m choosing differently for myself.

For me, it’s about honoring life without feeling the need to ritualize the passing of time. 🤍

Zoom out and see the bigger picture, fam. 👁️

You don’t have to participate in every controversy put in front of you.

Stay out of the drama. Focus on what’s actually in front of you. Focus on your own life, your growth, your family, your purpose.
