Happy National Esthetician Day! 🤍

Before I was an aesthetician, I was a school teacher, and while I eventually realized that path wasn’t for me, I always knew I had a calling to help, care for, and serve others.

After getting off birth control for 11 years, it was my own skin struggles with acne that made me understand how emotional, vulnerable, and personal skin is and how much it can affect the way we view and see ourselves.

Eventually, I made the decision to switch careers to become an esthetician.

On the very first day of esthetician school I remember writing myself on a card that I would open up on graduation day.

I wrote “Never forget your WHY!” Since then, I have never forgotten those four words.

They guide me in the products I choose, the treatments I offer, the decisions I make, and most importantly, the way I care for you when you walk through my doors.

Because to me, being an esthetician has always been about so much more than skin. It has been about the relationships I build, the community, earning trust, creating a space where people feel comfortable being themselves, and helping others feel seen, heard, understood, and cared for.

And while my career paths may have changed, my calling to help and serve others never did. Teaching just looks a little different now 😉

Today, I get to celebrate National Esthetician Day, as the owner of my very own skin studio, Barefaced Skin Studio, and that is something I will never take for granted.

To every person who has trusted me with their skin, shared their stories, supported my journey, or simply walked through my doors, thank you for allowing me to do what I love and care for you. And if our paths haven’t crossed yet, I cannot wait to meet you 🥰🫶

When she first came to me, one of the very first things she said was, “Why am I still struggling with acne in my 30s?”

5 weeks working together, and these photos 14 days apart 🥹🤍

My beautiful guest came to me struggling with breakouts despite already seeking help from a dermatologist. She had been using prescription medications for a year, and at the end of July, she felt like it was still going downhill.

Over the last 5 weeks, we put her on a fully customized Mixi skincare home care regimen and competed one in person treatment. She has been so consistent with homecare and these two photos were taken exactly 14 days apart.
