One thing I’ve learned throughout this pregnancy is that movement doesn’t have to look the same every season. 🤍

I spent years building a strong foundation before becoming pregnant. Strength training, walking, lifting, and taking care of my body were already a part of my life long before these babies came along. That foundation has been such a gift during this pregnancy, especially carrying twins.

But pregnancy has also taught me the importance of listening to my body and adjusting when needed.

Movement can look like so many things: lifting weights, walking, stretching, yoga, mobility work, banded exercises, or simply getting up and moving when your body has the energy for it.

At 30 weeks pregnant with twins, my movement looks very different than it did before pregnancy. Right now, it’s often short walks, gentle mobility, and banded work when I can find the energy. Some days I do more, and some days rest is exactly what my body needs.

There’s no prize for pushing through when your body is asking you to slow down. And there’s no shame in modifying, shortening, or completely changing your workouts as your pregnancy progresses.

Strong doesn’t always mean doing more. Sometimes strength looks like knowing when to adjust.

Move in the ways that feel good and supportive for your body, in whatever season you’re in. 🤍

As we move into the cooler months, there’s something beautiful about allowing ourselves to slow down, turn inward, and soften. 🍂

We live in a world that constantly encourages us to do more, move faster, and keep pushing, but our bodies have seasons, too.

As the weather cools and the days become a little quieter, it can be a good time to choose softer ways of moving. Gentle walks, stretching, mobility work, restorative movement, warm baths, deeper breathing, and simply giving yourself permission to rest.

And don’t forget the power of touch. 🤎 Massage can be a beautiful way to reconnect with your body, release built-up tension, support relaxation, and give your nervous system a chance to exhale.

You don’t always have to push your body to care for it. Sometimes caring for your body looks like slowing down and listening to what it’s asking for.

Let this season be a reminder that rest is productive, softness is strength, and there is value in moving inward. 🍁

Life is always changing, and sometimes change feels scary, messy, and completely unpredictable. But I’m learning that the seasons that challenge us the most are often the ones building our character, strengthening our resilience, and deepening our faith.

When we ask God to guide our steps and lead us toward something better, we have to remember that His answer may first look like discomfort. Sometimes He allows our current situation to become messy because we’ve grown too comfortable in a place we were only meant to occupy for a season. Not everything is meant to last forever, and that doesn’t mean it didn’t serve a beautiful purpose while it was here.

Life is a constant ebb and flow. We expand, release, rest, rebuild, and begin again.

Massage work has taught me that our bodies move through seasons, too. They hold stress, emotions, change, and memories, and healing begins when we finally give ourselves permission to release what we’ve been carrying. Sometimes tension has to rise to the surface before it can leave.

So even when I can’t see exactly where the next step is leading, I trust that God is still ordering it. This season isn’t breaking me…it’s preparing me. My faith is growing, my resilience is strengthening, and I know something better is being built. 🤍

I can’t believe it’s finally HERE!

September 12th will officially be my last day seeing clients before beginning my maternity leave. I’ll be taking some much-needed time to rest, care for myself, and prepare for the arrival of our twin girls. 💕

Thank you so much to everyone who has shown me patience, grace, and understanding over the last 7 months as I’ve navigated working through a twin pregnancy. Your continued support has meant more to me than you know!

I’m also so excited to share that when I return at the beginning of the year, Balanced Bodywork & Healing will be relocating to a beautiful new space where I can continue serving you! Stay tuned for more updates and details to come. ✨

One muscle I frequently assess is the piriformis, a small muscle located deep in the glutes. When it becomes tight or irritated, it can place pressure on or irritate the sciatic nerve in some people, leading to symptoms like:
✨ Pain in the glutes
✨ Tight or stiff hips
✨ Pain, tingling, or numbness that travels down the leg
✨ Reduced hip mobility

In this video, I’m using sustained compression on the glute muscles to help decrease muscle tension, improve tissue mobility, and encourage better hip movement. Combined with the right stretching and strengthening program, this can help many people move more comfortably.

Remember, not all leg pain is piriformis syndrome or sciatica. There are several possible causes, which is why an individualized assessment is so important.

If you’ve been dealing with hip pain, glute tightness, or symptoms that travel down your leg, your glutes may deserve a closer look.

When you truly love what you do, it never feels like “just a job.” 🤍

Getting to help people relax, feel better, and simply take a moment for themselves is something I’ll never take for granted. I’m so grateful I get to do what I love every day, and even more grateful for every person who trusts me with their care. ✨💆🏼‍♀️
