✨ This wasn’t just an install… it was a custom solution.
My sweet client traveled all the way from Kansas City for her very first experience wearing hair. ❤️ That kind of trust is something I never take lightly.
Instead of using a lace closure the traditional way, I completely deconstructed it to create coverage exactly where she needed it. By strategically placing sections on both sides and a smaller piece on top, I was able to build a natural-looking result that fit her unique pattern of hair loss—not force her into a one-size-fits-all solution.
To finish her transformation, we added two rows of extensions for fullness, length, and seamless blending.
This is why I love what I do. Every scalp is different. Every client deserves a customized approach. Sometimes the best results come from thinking outside the box instead of following the “normal” way of doing things.
Kansas City ➡️ Wichita was worth the drive. 💕

She has been with me since the very beginning. 🩷
This beautiful human was only my SECOND topper client ever, and she trusted me before I had years of experience, before I knew all the little details that make the biggest difference.
Together, we learned.
✨ We learned that topper base size matters just as much as color and length. A base that’s too small won’t give the coverage some women truly need.
✨ We learned that 160% density isn’t for everyone. More hair isn’t always better. The goal is hair that feels like you, not just more of it.
She wore that first topper proudly because, to her, having hair again meant everything. But today… she gets the upgrade she deserved. 💕
A brand-new custom topper, a full pressure-free installation, THREE rows of extensions, and a transformation that feels completely seamless.
And because she’s been my biggest guinea pig… I figured she deserved this gift. 💝
(Also… yes. This is the same client I accidentally installed her topper backwards once. 🤦🏼♀️😂 Thankfully we’ve both come a long way since then!)
Watching my work evolve over the years is one of the greatest gifts this career has given me. Thank you to every client who trusted me while I was learning, growing, and becoming the stylist I am today. I truly couldn’t have done it without you.
✨ And just like that… I’ll see her again in about 4ish months 💕🙌
But from here? Her maintenance is officially in HER hands. 👏🏼
K-Tips don’t require move-ups every 6–8 weeks like a traditional beaded row… but that doesn’t mean they’re maintenance-free. 👀
Between now and removal/reinstall, it’s all about proper at-home care:
✨ Brush 2–3x a day while holding the hair near the root
✨ Separate your K-Tips DAILY with your fingers so the bonds don’t tangle or mat together
✨ Never go to bed with wet hair
✨ Sleep with your hair in a loose braid or low pony
✨ A silk bonnet or silk pillowcase = your best friend
✨ Keep oils, masks & heavy conditioners OFF the bonds
✨ Shampoo your scalp thoroughly and rinse, rinse, RINSE
✨ Always dry the bonds completely
✨ Use heat protection and avoid putting direct high heat on the keratin bonds
You take care of the K-Tips… and the K-Tips will take care of you. 💗
See you in a few months, gorgeous 😘

Maybe will post more since is a trend now 😅. Look at that clean take off minus the rogue bead

This is not my work but this hits home since I had one of my first clients to complain last week about her 2 month old ktips… since doing them for 5 yrs and building up a bigger clientele for them this last yr, this was the first time someone under my care had improper home maintenance, and with ktips, all there really is is HOME maintenance. I am very clear with the instructions, I also send Home an instruction card. But with any profession, the consumer only knows as much as they know, and it is our responsibility to educate further. So just like many other things, I’ve learned that now I need to be even more forceful because of one person out of a couple handfuls…
Are these type of extensions for everyone? Absolutely not but they can be for every single hair type. Previous damage from Color and environment can also play a role in how long these last and how much maintenance you need to put into them. These are a very luxury type of extension because of the time spent from custom making them to install installing and the physical labor of removing. The hair can be reused a couple times with a loss of an inch every time we reinstall. Some will be extremely tiny, only holding onto 3 to 5 hairs and that’s normally around the hairline and closer to the top of the part. Those can definitely slide out or fall out within a couple months as natural fall out happens along with mild slippage. I always tell my clients to save any rogue pieces and we can instal them back in anytime with in the first couple months… these will last around 4 months without coming into the salon for any type of maintenance.. but at home, the client will BRUSH a couple times a day.. oil and use professional products including heat protectant every time you use any type of hot tool. I can definitely tell when my clients do not use heat protectant or have their irons up too high. Along with toppers and extensions being bought you will also need to invest in professional CORRECT product in order to keep the extensions for the longest possible life Span. Regular TRIMS/DUSTINGS are also a great idea as the hair is 100% human hair so will get split ends due to many reasons.. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO DO is pulling the ktips apart daily at the base. Science tells us that when little strings grow out next to each other and are loose, they will have a tendency to tangle and start twisting (dreading) together. So pulling apart and making sure non, especially around the crown area and the side you sleep on the most, are together and all are separated! You also cannot put any heat on the top part of the extension where the bond is. This is something that I personally thought was common sense since I use heat to melt the bond into the Hair, but heat will melt those bonds and then it will stick to all sorts of types of hair around (new growth, natural fall out, other extension hair) and you will create a Matted mess. Along with night protection like a bonnet, your extensions should last a good 3-5 months
Other than that you can style, wash, and wear just like normally hair! If you have any questions message me and if you want to book an extensions go thru this link below!
Also don’t play mermaids with this beautiful hair 😘

3 things that can make or break a topper installation:
1️⃣ Mesh selection
2️⃣ Proper bead sizing
3️⃣ Custom darts sewn into the mesh to create a true-to-head fit
Because heads aren’t flat… they’re curved, unique, and require customization for the most natural result possible.
The details matter. And those details are often what separate a good install from a great one. ✨
Save this if you’re curious about topper and mesh integration systems, and follow along for more behind-the-chair education.
