Do not disturb! I leave this sign up whenever I’m doing a facial to encourage extra peace and relaxation for my clients. There’s rarely ever noise in my salon space. It’s more about them flipping a mental switch to enjoy some quiet time. We all need to put one of these signs up every once in a while in our own lives. I encourage everyone that walks through my door to tap into their own do-not-disturb setting. This is a time to release the heaviness and the challenges of their busy lives and to lean towards the positives and the calm. Block out the noise. Take a deep breath. Focus on what you DO want. Just Bee Yourself! This is my advice to anyone in business, especially when you are building clientele in the early days of working in the beauty industry. I wear my big glasses because they’re fabulous and I CAN’T SEE! I am bubbly and positive with my clients because it’s in my nature. I share stories about my kids because being a mom is the best part of my life. I talk about organic foods and nutrition because wellness is my passion. When you lean into your authenticity, amazing things can happen. Your clients will trust you. You will feel more fulfilled. Your individuality impacts people more than you know! Whether it’s big glasses, tattoos, or blue hair, put your unique qualities out there! Suit up, put on that crazy necklace, brush your fangs, and do your thing.
