It’s not just about expanding the upper jaw or creating more tongue space to improve the airway and breathing.
Your vestibular system (the balance center in your inner ear) and your visual system are directly connected to breathing through neurological reflexes. If the brain isn’t coordinating these sensory systems efficiently, changes to the maxilla can have unintended effects on breathing patterns and overall function.
When the shape of the upper jaw changes, every connected structure must adapt as well. That’s why we focus on the nervous system and neurological function first—helping the brain organize and coordinate sensory input before making structural changes.
The body functions as an integrated system. Airway, breathing, posture, vision, balance, and jaw development are all connected.
Dentists should realize they are neurologist of The highest order is understanding the human system as a whole.

If you struggle with insomnia, this is something you may want to hear.

What if your bedtime anxiety, racing mind, or feeling “wired but tired” isn’t only about stress or nervous system overdrive?

Could the missing piece be sensory integration related to your head and neck posture?

Your vestibular system, posture, mouth position, and resting neck alignment are all connected. When these systems aren’t working together optimally, they may alter the sensory input your brain receives—potentially affecting your ability to relax and sleep.

If you’ve tried everything and still can’t figure out why sleep feels so difficult, this perspective might be worth exploring.

Tune in to learn how posture, sensory processing, and the vestibular system may play a bigger role in sleep than you think.

We often talk about how modern food affects our health—but what if the story goes far beyond what’s on our plate?
Researcher and dentist Weston Price whomoved in late 1800 till mid 1900, observed that the texture, nutrient density, and quality of traditional foods appeared to influence physical development, including jaw structure, facial growth, and dental health. Looking at today’s world, he might ask an even bigger question:
What else about modern life is shaping the way our children develop?
Less time outdoors, non-variable communications through text instead of talking, Softer foods that require less chewing. More screen time and less movement. Reduced exposure to natural environments. Higher stress levels. Disrupted sleep. A growing disconnect from the rhythms that humans evolved with.
Our bodies don’t develop in isolation. Nutrition matters, but so does the environment we live in every day.
If Weston Price were studying children today, what factors do you think would stand out most?

Applied Kinesiology has been one of the key tools I rely on to help me understand what’s happening as I change structures within the mouth. The feedback it provides has been invaluable throughout my work.

I wanted to share a little of its history and explore how practitioners from a variety of professions have used this knowledge to better understand the connection between structure, function, and the body as a whole.

Growing up in Iran, I often imagined that Western life in America was the dream. I was fascinated by supermarkets—the endless aisles and perfectly arranged produce stacked high. It looked like abundance at its finest.
What I didn’t understand at the time was the trade-off: convenience often comes at the cost of freshness, nutrient density, and our connection to the people who grow our food.
Sometimes I miss the simplicity of a farm-to-table way of life, where food came from the direct source of the person who grow it, a story, and a relationship behind it. We could thank and bless the hands that grew what nourished us.
Modernization has given us a lot, but in some ways it has also taken us further from what our bodies and communities evolved with. Food for thought—pun intended. 🌿✨

A quarter turn. That’s it.
Would you like to see what a quarter turn can do to body alignment? Tune in.
This is why I never look at expansion in isolation. Without sensory and neurological coordination, expansion is only part of the story.
When the body can sense, adapt, and organize around change, everything shifts.
The transformation is something you have to see to believe.

How do I change the shape of the palate in adults?

It starts with a comprehensive assessment of the nervous system and the structures connected to the maxillary arch. Your maxilla (upper jaw) is much more than a bone—it forms the floor of the nasal cavity and influences breathing, eye alignment, ear function, and the sensory input that helps you orient and move through space.
My approach focuses on understanding and respecting how the nervous system functions. By addressing the underlying patterns that influence posture, breathing, movement, and craniofacial development, the body can begin to organize itself more efficiently.
When the nervous system and the body are working in harmony, meaningful changes become possible. This is where improved regulation, greater adaptability, and a more balanced state of homeostasis can emerge.
✨ When the body is in agreement, change doesn’t have to be forced—it can happen naturally. HolisticHealth Movement Posture Wellness
