Hiding from a thunderstorm up Teton canyon today with the ever classic Jack Hatch and his daughter Ella. Last year I came very close to getting struck by lightning, so we just sat and waited for the storm to pass. It was a beautiful afternoon and a very short but much needed ride!

My girls looking like a Mark Maggiori painting on the ridge. It's rained so much here we couldn't be on the trails of the roads they were too slick so we just wrote about 6 mi in the backcountry after looking for the sheep it was amazing!

Gonna start calling Ella "Sticky!" Nothing like having 100 head of sheep being pushed around a fractious four year old C**t. Ella Hatch stuck with him, she's a top hand!

We rode up Horseshoe and looked all over for the Cashmere goat. There must have been 1000 sheep. I talked to the Bascos and they said "no way Jose" on buying ol' Cashmere Billy. He apparently belongs to the Patrone. I need someone who speaks Spanish to come with me tomorrow. My Spanish is muy malo!

Fun fact, I used to camp cook from Alaska to Wyoming. My favorite story is when we were putting up hay in Durango and Mom called and said the chef quit. I had to park my tractor and drive an hour to the ranch and cook "candlelight dinner" for 90 people. I didn't get out of the kitchen the rest of that summer. I was so grateful when we actually got a chef hired! I don't do this very often, but when I do it's fun, especially when I get to trade for chores! Hopefully this turns out ok! Who's coming to dinner?

Last week this adorable cashmere goat came walking out of the woods. The Basco sheep herders have come back to Horseshoe canyon where I go and trot the horses two or three times a week. I still can't lope a horse and risk starting another brain bleed.
Out walks this beautiful goat and I was for sure my horses were going to tear the trailer apart. I still have pretty bad PTSD, so I just sat back and watched as this cute fella came over and said hello to everyone.
I wonder if Charlie would notice if we had another critter on the farm?

Probably the worst wreck I've seen at a rodeo. Horse is fine, Josh Davison is ok. Everyone behind the gate is too. Panel gate is not. Rodeos are buying 6'10 foot fences after what happened in Oregon with the rouge bull going over, and running thru the crowd really hurting spectators. Mackey Idaho, filmed by Rodeo Wrecks
