With nearly 20 years of experience in my field, I’ve learned that no two people are the same and neither are their assessments.

There has never been a one-size-fits-all approach to rehabilitation, which is why I’ve continually expanded and refined my skill set over the years. The Romanian Deadlift (RDL) is one of the best exercises for building strong glutes and hamstrings but only if your technique is right.

✅ Push your hips back like you’re trying to close a drawer with your butt.
✅ Keep the kettlebells close to your body, moving from your sides to directly in front of your shins in a straight line.
✅ Hinge from the hips—not the lower back.
✅ Stay balanced by maintaining three points of contact on your feet: the big toe, little toe, and heel.
✅ Brace your core throughout the movement.
✅ You should feel tension in your hamstrings and glutes, not pain in your lower back.

Remember: this isn’t about how low you can go—it’s about how well you control the movement while keeping tension where it belongs.

Meniscus and ACL injuries require a progressive rehabilitation approach,and the right exercise at the right time can make a significant difference.

This is one exercise I often recommend during the rehabilitation process to help improve knee stability, control, strength, and confidence in movement. While every injury and recovery journey is unique, exercises like this can play an important role in restoring function and supporting a safe return to daily activities and sport.

Remember: rehabilitation isn’t just about reducing pain ,it’s about building a stronger, more resilient knee.

Not every recovery journey is straightforward.

Over the past few sessions, we’ve seen significant improvements in knee strength, function, and movement quality. Yet, despite the progress, pain remains.

As practitioners, our role isn’t only to help people move and feel better, it’s also to recognise when further investigation is needed.

That’s why the next step is an MRI referral. Imaging may help us identify whether there’s an underlying issue contributing to the ongoing pain and guide the most appropriate treatment plan moving forward.

Recovery isn’t about guessing. It’s about assessing, treating, monitoring progress, and knowing when to dig deeper.

Sometimes the best decision is not another treatment session,it’s getting more information.
