My gorgeous client came in wanting a much darker, more lived-in look. The inspiration photo she showed me was actually quite a bit darker than the final result we created.

One of the most important parts of my job is not only recreating inspiration photos, but also choosing a colour that suits my client’s lifestyle and maintenance goals. I know my client well, and I knew that going too dark would create a high-maintenance grow-out with a noticeable contrast against her natural regrowth.

Instead, we created a softer, more natural root melt that still gave her the darker, richer look she was after, while ensuring it grows out beautifully and keeps her salon visits stress-free.

To achieve that, we created a deep root melt, taking it much further down than usual and matching it as closely as possible to her natural colour. This allows her colour to grow out beautifully without creating a new maintenance cycle or harsh regrowth lines.
