This Women’s Day, we’re celebrating something every woman deserves: to be heard, to be informed, and to receive compassionate, evidence-based care.

Women’s health is about more than treating symptoms, it’s about listening, understanding, and empowering women to make informed decisions at every stage of life.

Today, and every day, let’s encourage women to prioritise their health, ask questions, and advocate for the care they deserve.

Happy National Women’s Day 🤍

Returning to Northlands Girls’ High School for the 4th year in a row was an honour, but this year was extra special as parents joined the Career Expo for the first time 🤍

As an old girl, it’s always a privilege to connect with learners and their families, answer questions about studying medicine, gynaecology, and women’s health, and discuss how AI is shaping future career choices.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the table, it was wonderful to see so many curious minds and familiar faces. Here’s to inspiring the next generation! ✨

🩺 Blood clots and oestrogen HRT. Here are the facts.

Fear shouldn’t be the reason you avoid treatment 💙

✨ In this video, Dr Subrayan explains:
🔹 Why not all oestrogen HRT is the same
🔹 How different formulations affect blood clot risk
🔹 Why your baseline health matters just as much as your HRT
🔹 The lifestyle changes that can help reduce your risk

The goal isn’t to fear oestrogen HRT, it’s to understand your individual risk and choose the safest option for you.

🚨 One of the biggest mistakes women make at menopause appointments?
Forgetting to tell their gynaecologist about everything they’re taking.

💊 Prescription meds
🌿 Supplements
💛 Vitamins
⚖️ Weight-loss treatments
🛒 OTC medicines

🧩 Every medication is a piece of the puzzle. The more your gynae knows, the quicker they can get to the right diagnosis and treatment.

📸 Pro tip: Take photos of your medications, ingredient lists, and dosages before your appointment!

💉 The scale doesn’t tell the whole story.

GLP-1 medications can be an effective tool for weight loss, but they’re only one piece of the puzzle 🧩

For women, maintaining muscle, supporting hormones, and building healthy habits are just as important as the number on the scale 💪🏽

Swipe through to learn about the missing piece in many GLP-1 journeys and why a balanced approach leads to better long-term health 🏋🏽‍♀️🥑🥦🥙

💇🏻‍♀️Hair loss isn’t always caused by menopause or HRT

Before trying the latest viral remedy or supplement, it’s important to understand why your hair is falling out.

Hair loss can be linked to:
🧬 Genetics
⚖️ Hormones
🩸 Iron deficiency
🦋 Thyroid disorders
😰 Stress
💊 Certain medications
🥗 Nutritional deficiencies

The best treatment starts with finding the root cause, not just treating the symptom 🤍
