Saturday was one of those gorgeous winter’s days where everyone seemed to emerge from hibernation.

You know the kind… where you pop out for “just a quick look” and end up spending the whole morning wandering from stall to stall, coffee in hand, stopping every few metres because you’ve bumped into someone you know.

That was the Stones Hill Padstal Market this weekend.

Our little pop-up stand kept us busy, and AJ had such fun chatting to everyone who stopped by. Some familiar faces came to stock up on their favourites, while others were discovering Salt Bath Body Refillery for the very first time. I never tire of those conversations—watching someone pick up a product, ask a few questions, and leave with something they’ve chosen to carve out a little time for themselves.

That’s the lovely thing about markets. Nobody’s in a rush. People linger, ask questions, share stories and support local businesses because they genuinely want to.

If you haven’t been to the Stones Hill Padstal Market yet, you really should. It has that slow market feel that reminds me so much of Cape Town… just with a whole lot of Eastern Cape heart.
