Flash That Studio - Professional Photographer

I have a few deadlines on my desk today, but I wanted to pause for a moment and share one of the beautiful recent sessions from the studio. ✨

Sometimes the best medicine for my soul is to create — to play with light, try new angles, explore fresh poses, and be reminded why I love photography so much.

I did a model call last year, and this gorgeous lady was someone I had wanted to photograph for quite some time. Then I bumped into her, noticed the sweetest little baby bump, and immediately knew we had to set a date for a maternity shoot.

Tazzlyn was so natural and comfortable in front of the camera that the entire session just flowed. We laughed, created, and had so much fun from start to finish.

The cute white top is part of my studio wardrobe. Proof that jeans and a simple white top never have to be boring. Sometimes less really is more.

I recently photographed Thato for his Matric Farewell at Uplands, and what made this session extra special is that the very first time I photographed him, he was only about 8 or 9 years old.
Last year I photographed their beautiful family, and this year his mom asked me to capture another milestone moment. Seeing families grow, change, tease one another, laugh together, and love deeply is one of the greatest privileges of this job.
Thato has grown into such a lovely young man — confident, respectful, and excited about the future and the goals he has set for himself.
Then I met his date Katie. They’ve been friends since primary school and apparently made a pact as kids that they would go to Matric Dance together one day. 🥹
And he was an absolute gentleman. He complimented her on her dress and hair, carefully placed her corsage on, and even carried her shoes when we took a few photos on the rocks.
It’s these small moments… the kindness, the history, the character, the love between families and friends… that make my heart smile.
