On the 4th of January 2020 an idea popped into my head. Cassidy loved playing in my makeup, but I didn’t want little four-year-old fingers in mine, and every set I found came from China with ingredients I couldn’t stand behind.

So I made her own makeup. That’s how Cassie Kids started, and it’s still exactly what we do today - safe, non-toxic makeup made for pretend play and copying mommy!

We believe that what you put on your body is just as important as what you put in your body.

Children’s bodies have been shown to absorb more of what is applied to them and are at greater risk compared to adults when exposed to any carcinogen. As a result we want to make sure that whatever ingredients we add to our products are harmless and fun to use at the same time.

So next time your little one reaches for your (expensive!) lipstick, just keep in mind that her skin is going to absorb far more than yours does. Rather find child-appropriate, natural and mineral makeup.

Unfortunately that excludes most makeup found at traditional toy shops. Although these sets are cute and colourful and made with kids in mind, they are full of harsh chemicals that are not good for young skins. They may look adorable but think twice before your little one applies it to her skin!
