Some people are like icebergs. What you see on the surface is only a small fraction of what they're carrying underneath. The smile they wear may be hiding exhaustion, the silence you misunderstand may be protecting a wounded heart, and the strength you admire may have been built through years of struggles they never speak about. We often judge people by what is visible, forgetting that everyone is fighting battles we know nothing about. That's why kindness matters. You never truly know how much weight someone is carrying beneath the calm waters they show the world.

They tried to make me believe my worth could be measured by a number on a scale.
They were wrong.
When I was a kid, I was called all the names making fun of me.
“Chunky, Charmin, pudgeball..”
And I remember all the times I came home from school and cried myself to sleep.
I promised myself that I when I grew up, I wouldn’t ever be made fun of again.
But there were times in my adult life that stress, depression and pain caused me to gain weight again..
And that just sent me deeper into sadness..
Until one day, I finally decided to take back my health, both mind and body.
Sure, I exercised, but it was so much more than that.
I realized that I may never be the perfect size ..
and I don’t have to be.
If that’s why someone wants me in their life or loves me- my size- then they don’t belong anywhere near me.
No, the ones that love me don’t care if I am a size zero or a size twenty.
They get me and appreciate me just the way that I am.
Yeah, I see all the beautiful tiny people on tv and in magazines.
Good for them, I’m not even a little jealous.
It’s their life and if they want that, more power to them.
I’m fine, just the way I am.
I get to eat the cake, have dessert when I want and just be happy.
And if you ask me, being happy is so much more important than being perfect.
So keep chasing perfection if that’s what you want.
I’ll choose peace, joy and a life that’s actually worth living…
because happiness has always looked far more beautiful on me than perfection ever could.
