STAND TOGETHER AGAINST GBV

Tomorrow, we ask everyone to wear black in solidarity with the women and girls whose lives have been taken by gender-based violence.

Black is a symbol of mourning.
A reminder of the lives lost.
A reminder of the families left behind.
And a reminder that we cannot become numb to another headline, another victim, another family forced to grieve.

Remember the mothers.
Remember the sisters.
Remember the daughters.

From the women whose lives have recently been lost in Ekurhuleni, to every woman and girl across South Africa who has been affected by GBV — we remember you.

But remembering is not enough.

We need to speak up.
We need to stand together.
We need to challenge violence when we see it.
We need to support survivors.
And we need to raise our voices for those who can no longer raise theirs.

Tomorrow, wear black.
