Things are tight at the moment. The fuel price seems to go up every five minutes, and we know what that does to the cost of everything else. Unfortunately skincare is often the first thing we cut back on.
So we've put our two most popular pairings together, and discounted the price.
1. The Complete the Routine set pairs GF2 Skin Rejuvenation, the daily mist, with GF1 Aftercare, the one you reach for after a treatment, a peel or a rough day.
2. Our His & Hers bundle is one GF2 and one GF2 for Him, so there's no more negotiating over whose turn it is (or who finished the bottle).
Both come with free delivery. These are only from our online store for delivery in South Africa.

The thing quietly wearing down your skin this winter probably wasn't a product you bought. It was your shower.
When skin goes tight and flaky, the instinct is to reach for more (another serum, a heavier cream). But the barrier, the outer layer that keeps water in and irritants out, is held together by a mix of natural oils and lipids, and hot water strips them away (so does soap). In one study, ten minutes with hands in hot water more than doubled the skin's water loss, while cold water raised it far less.
And cooler water doesn't leave you any less clean. When Rutgers researchers tested handwashing at temperatures from cool through to warm, it made no real difference to how well the germs came off. A cleanser (not soap) and friction do that job, not heat.
So before rebuilding your routine for spring, it's worth turning the dial down first. Lukewarm, not hot. Ten minutes, not twenty.
Our new piece on what the change of season does to skin (and why the fix is usually less) is on the blog at https://thoclor.com/spring-skin-barrier/

Skin has a way of changing the rules on us as we age. Once the turbulence of puberty has settled down, the skin generally behaves quite well (for most of us that is). Now in your forties its a little drier than it was, seems a little thinner and quicker to react. Maybe you are struggling with breakouts again.
A lot of these changes come down to oestrogen. As it falls through peri-menopause and menopause, collagen loss speeds up, skin holds less water, the barrier is more easily rattled, and some people see adult breakouts return. It is not you doing something wrong. It is the ground shifting under a routine that used to work.
The instinct is often to fight it with stronger everything. Usually the opposite serves better - support the barrier, keep the routine short, and keep the low-grade inflammation calm rather than adding to it. Skin in this phase responds to steadiness, not force.

Zombie skin cells sound like something out of a sci-fi horror movie don't they? But the reality is they are actually ageing the skin on your face right now.
These are damaged cells that have stopped dividing, but won't die off the way worn-out cells are supposed to. Scientists have nicknamed them zombie cells. Rather than bow out, they sit in the skin leaking a steady stream of inflammatory signals. This low, constant drip of inflammation quietly speeds up ageing. And you know if you have been with us for a while that this is called inflammageing.
The enzymes these cells release destroy collagen and elastin, causing wrinkles and sagging. The zombie cells block cell turnover, so your skin becomes dull and tired looking. They also weaken the barrier, leaving your skin susceptible to dehydration and further environmental damage.
A few of these zombie cells is normal. The problem starts when they build up and the healthy cells around them start ageing faster in their bad company. Clearing them out is one of the busiest corners of longevity research right now.
In the meantime there are things you can do to reduce the rate that these zombie cells are created. Protect your skin from UV damage, eat a balanced & varied diet, get enough sleep & exercise, and manage your stress. Plus our GF2 spray will help you manage the inflammation they cause in the skin.

This month we are talking about inflammation as the thing that quietly ages skin. So here is the twist - there is a kind of inflammation you actually want.
Take microneedling, or collagen induction therapy. Fine needles make tiny, controlled injuries in the skin, and the body answers with a burst of repair - fresh collagen and elastin laid down over the weeks that follow. It works precisely because it triggers inflammation. But a short, deliberate, self-limiting kind - the opposite of the slow simmer that ages skin.
The catch is the few days afterwards. The barrier is briefly open, and you want that controlled response to do its job and then settle - not drag on into prolonged redness or tip into post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH). This is where GF1 Aftercare shines - our more concentrated premium-grade hypochlorous acid, made for the healing window right after a procedure. Once the skin has recovered, you move back to GF2 for everyday.

Somewhere in your forties, give or take, skin starts to look a little tired even on the days you are not. The glow takes longer to arrive and leaves earlier. The usual explanation is simply ageing, and not much to be done.
New research quietly complicates that. When scientists compared inflammation across industrialised populations and two communities living traditionally, the slow, age-linked inflammation we treat as inevitable did not show up in the same way. It looks less like a law of biology and more like a product of how we live.
Our new piece walks through what that means - and what genuinely helps.

Dry and dehydrated: two words that get used as if they mean the same thing, but they don't. Sorting out which one you actually have changes what helps.
Dry skin is short on oil. It tends to be flaky, a little rough and tight all over, and it is usually a skin type you have had for years.
Dehydrated skin is short on water. It can look dull, feel tight and papery and show fine surface lines that appear overnight - and, confusingly, oily and combination skin get dehydrated too. You can be oily and dehydrated at the same time.
The reason it matters is the fix.
- Dry skin wants oil-based richness to top up what it does not make (think squalane, jojoba, rosehip).
- Dehydrated skin wants water and the humectants that hold the moisture in (hyaluronic acid or aloe vera). With dehydrated skin you must also look at what is stripping the moisture out - hot water, harsh cleansers, a dry heated room all winter.
Same tight feeling, two different answers.

We have spoken this month about stress, specifically around what it might be doing to your skin.
One of the reasons we love GF2 is that it is simple to use, so it doesn't add any more stress to your daily skincare routine.
Just spray... and wait. GF2 is only active while the skin is damp, which is why the application method is non-negotiable.
First clean your skin with a low-pH (slightly acidic) cleansing gel, rinse well and pat dry.
Then simply apply 8–10 pumps of the product to your clean, dry skin, and let it air-dry completely. Don't rub it in, and don't shortcut the process with a fan or hairdryer. That's it.
This natural drying time ensures the HOCl stays active long enough to pe*****te effectively.
Once dry, the HOCl becomes inactive — so the wait is what makes the product work.
A simple ritual, but one that is essential for the best results.

One last myth to put down: that the right product can undo what stress does to your skin.
It cannot, and anyone selling you that is selling you something. No serum replaces sleep, and nothing in a bottle lowers your cortisol. What good skincare can do is support skin while life is demanding - protect the barrier, calm the inflammation, take some of the heat out.
That is the honest version. Less drama, better skin, over time.

Here is where the trend and the science finally agree, even if the science is less fun. The things that help "Cortisol Face" are the unglamorous ones.
Sleep, movement and whatever genuinely lowers your stress load do more for skin than any single product - they go at the cause. On the skin itself, less is more: a short, gentle routine that protects the barrier, being sun-wise during the day (UV drives the same collagen loss cortisol does), and calming the inflammation underneath.
That last part is where GF2 fits - the calm layer that takes the heat out. Not a stress cure. Nothing in a bottle is.
