CHAPTER FIVE
LEARNING TO TRUST THE PROCESS
As Lwendi Kurls continued to grow, I began to understand that building a business is not only about reaching goals.
It is also about learning to trust the process.
There were times when I wanted everything to happen quickly. I wanted the brand to reach more people, attract more customers, and achieve the success I had imagined.
But growth does not always happen according to our preferred timeline.
Some seasons are filled with visible progress. Other seasons are quieter, requiring patience, preparation, and faith. I learned that quiet seasons are not wasted seasons. They often give us the opportunity to strengthen the foundation of what we are building.
I had to become comfortable with taking one step at a time.
That meant focusing on the work in front of me instead of becoming overwhelmed by everything that still needed to be done. It meant celebrating small victories, learning from setbacks, and continuing to improve even when the results were not immediate.
Every customer interaction became an opportunity to grow.
Every piece of feedback helped me understand how to serve better.
Every challenge taught me something about patience, responsibility, and resilience.
I also learned that consistency is more powerful than occasional bursts of effort.
A business grows through the daily choices we make—how we communicate, how we treat customers, how we respond to problems, and how committed we remain to our values.
There were moments when I questioned whether I was doing enough.
But I reminded myself that progress is not always obvious.
Sometimes it looks like gaining confidence. Sometimes it looks like becoming more organised, improving a product, understanding your customers better, or refusing to give up after a difficult day.
The journey taught me to stop measuring my progress only by visible results.
I began to recognise the value of the lessons, relationships, skills, and experiences I was gaining along the way.
Lwendi Kurls was growing, but so was I.
I was becoming more confident in my decisions, more patient with the process, and more willing to learn from every stage of the journey.
Trusting the process did not mean ignoring the challenges.
It meant believing that consistent effort, honest reflection, and commitment to the vision would eventually produce results.
The journey is still unfolding.
And I am still learning to appreciate every part of it.
