PART 1. PROLACTIN

Menstrual cycle in women is a hormone controlled process that repeats itself every month. Few women are fortunate enough that this process repeats itself exactly same days every 28 days. However some may shed blood every month with few alterations in duration. Lastly there are a number of women out there who have not seen their periods for some time (not because of menopause.. but) because of hormonal imbalance.

Today I want us to talk specifically on one of the causes of this hormonal imbalance: high levels of prolactin. In women, elevated prolactin levels can interfere with reproductive hormone levels, resulting in ovulation issues and irregular periods. High prolactin levels can interfere with the release of eggs from the ovaries (ovulation), leading to irregular periods or even the absence of periods (amenorrhea). Besides infertility, high prolactin levels in women can cause milky discharge from the ni***es (galactorrhea), loss of interest in s*x, and vaginal dryness.

Excess prolactin can also reduce the production of estrogen, which is crucial for the development of the uterine lining and the release of eggs.

So How do we solve this problem my sisters? How can we reduce high levels of prolactin and allow ourselves to enjoy more Menstrual cycles as well as being able to have our babies?

Vitex agnus-castus (chasteberry) potentially lower prolactin levels, which can help rebalance other hormones like estrogen and progesterone, potentially reducing premenstrual syndrome (PMS) symptoms.
