When Brittany Renae invited me to participate in the third annual shoot, I was beyond flattered and excited - but, I was also thinking “are you sure you want me?! Do you know I’m not a real model? That I’m an old gal? That I’m literally just starting prep and my body is rather … soft at the moment?!” 😳

I don’t experience self-doubt very often, TBH. So I asked myself why I was experiencing it now. And I couldn’t come up with a good answer. So I checked that s**t at the curb and went for it.

The thing is, nothing good comes from self-doubt. And you don’t grow in your comfort zone.

Would I have rather done a photoshoot when I was stage-lean? Probably. But I’m so glad I didn’t let that fear stop me — because if I had, I wouldn’t have had what wound up being a truly amazing experience. And I wouldn’t have met the phenomenal women that I did. If you’re looking for your sign to step outside your comfort zone - this is it.

So many thanks to everyone who made this possible!

Happy birthday to this gem ! We met back in her Kappa days when sorority formals were still a thing 😭😭😭 I’ve been spraying her weekly for years and always look forward to our life chats. She was always wise beyond her years, but this year I’ve really seen her blossom into who she really is. I hope 26 is the best year yet (despite the insurance 😂)! Happy birthday!
