One year ago today, we cut the ribbon to Ana’s Alchemy (back then, Ana's Apothecary)!

I entered this first year with an idea of what I thought it would look like. Almost nothing has gone exactly according to that picture.

It hasn’t necessarily been better or worse. It has simply been different.

There have been beautiful moments, difficult lessons, slow days, unexpected opportunities, changing plans, and countless reasons to keep learning and going.

This year has taught me that something can look different from the life we imagined and still become an amazing life.

It has also shown me how far support can travel.

When you visit a small business, place an order, book a session, share a post, recommend it to a friend, or even offer an encouraging word, that care rarely ends with one person. It moves outward to another maker, another local business, a community event, a family, and a neighborhood.

Our everyday choices help determine what is able to keep existing around us.

I remain optimistic about the future of Minneapolis and our community because I have seen what happens when people continue showing up for one another.

What began in a kitchen with my mom and sister has grown into a space where science, creativity, intuition, and care can meet.

Ana’s Alchemy is plant-based, vegan, palm-free, and thoughtfully handmade here in Minneapolis (right in the shop!). But beneath every product is something even more important: the belief that everyday moments can become meaningful acts of self-love.

Taking steps toward better sleep for children across the Twin Cities 💖

Today, I’m at Steps for Sleep, a free, family-friendly walk and wellness fair hosted by My Very Own Bed at DeLaSalle High School.

My Very Own Bed helps provide local children with new beds and Dream Kits, creating safe and comfortable places where they can rest, dream, learn, and grow.

Stop by the Ana’s Alchemy table to create a free herbal dream pillow using rose, lavender, calendula, and lemon balm. Take it home and place it beside your bed as a gentle sensory reminder that it is time to slow down and rest 🌿

Lights, camera…me? 🎬

When I started Ana’s Alchemy, I knew I would have to wear a lot of hats.

Some are less glamorous: accountant, inventory manager, and head of purchasing. Others are more creative: formulator, researcher, product developer, and content creator.

What I did not expect was adding lead actress in my own commercial to the list.

I’ve always imagined commercials starring actresses and models, and I never really placed myself in either category. But yet here we are!

What a surreal, slightly nerve-racking, and incredibly fun experience!

In the meantime, should I officially add “actress” to my résumé?? We will have to see the final version to make that call...

Some people consider the autumn equinox the beginning of a new year. I consider it our preparation period before the dreaded Minnesota “W” and “S” words: winter and snow ❄️

This evening, I’m keeping my ritual simple. I’ll be journaling about what brought me joy this summer, how the beginning of fall has felt, what I want to experience before the season ends, and what I hope to nurture when winter asks us to slow down and turn inward.

There is something beautiful about that invitation. As the world outside begins to fall asleep, our inner worlds can begin to come alive.

I hope to spend the quieter months creating, crafting, reflecting, and sharing time with the people I love...preferably while admiring the snow from the warm side of a window. Those feeling braver are welcome to go play in it!!

Tonight, I’m asking myself:

What do I want to carry into this upcoming season?
What do I hope to create within it?
And what am I ready to let fall away?

You don’t need an elaborate ritual to honor a changing season. Sometimes, a pause is enough.

Who says date night has to happen at night?

Angel and her date recently visited Ana’s Alchemy for a sweet morning experience. They took their time exploring different essential oils, discovering which aromas spoke to them, and creating personalized aromatherapy roll-ons that reflected both of their preferences and personalities.
