Tanning Tips 101 💫

🤖 Staying in the exact same position for your entire session can sometimes lead to pressure points, creases, or lighter areas where skin is folded or compressed.

🩹 A simple fix? Make small adjustments throughout your session. Move your arms, shift your legs, or slightly change your position every few minutes to help promote more even exposure.

💡 Remember:
✨ Small movements are enough
✨ Avoid pressing skin tightly against the acrylic
✨ Follow your recommended exposure schedule
✨ Always wear approved protective eyewear

A little movement can go a long way toward a more even-looking tan. 😎

We often talk about melanin when explaining how the skin responds to UV, but melanin is only part of the process. 💡🧬

With repeated UV exposure, the epidermis, the outer layer of your skin, may gradually become slightly thicker. 🥼Scientists call this EPIDERMAL HYPERPLASIA. The outermost part of the epidermis, known as the STRATUM CORNEUM, may also thicken.

Along with increased melanin production, this thicker outer layer can absorb and scatter some UV radiation, helping reduce how much reaches the deeper layers of the skin. ☀️🛡️

🧬 These are real biological adaptations, but the protection they provide is modest. They do not make the skin immune to overexposure, sunburn, DNA damage or premature aging. That’s why gradual exposure and avoiding a burn still matter. 🚫🔥

Understanding the skin’s natural responses doesn’t mean ignoring the risks. It means learning the complete science so we can make better-informed choices. 🤎✨
