After what we recently went through with the local fires nearby, I now have an evacuation plan in place for Buster if there’s enough warning for someone to pick him up.

That way, I can focus on getting Savannah out safely without having to worry about what happens with him. Trying to get Savannah out was terrifying. She doesn’t let me pick her up, and after chasing her all over the house, I realized I might have to leave her behind. I was left wondering if my only option would be to leave the doors wide open to let the smoke in and hope she would get out, knowing that even if she survived, we would probably never see her again because she is SO shy.

Now I have people I completely trust who can take Buster, along with his food and supplies, and they have all of his emergency information and contacts.

It’s a relief to have a plan for both of them.
