❤️🐐 Heart of the Farm Wednesday: Meet Ophelia! 🐐❤️

Small goat. BIG personality. And a pretty incredible story!

Meet Ophelia, the youngest and smallest of our milking ladies here at Crane Creek Homemade. At just 3 years old, she may be little, but she has absolutely no idea. 🤣

And did we mention she's literally our mascot? That's right! This little lady represents Crane Creek Homemade, and once you get to know her, you'll understand exactly why. ❤️

Ophelia was raised as a bottle baby, and somewhere along the way, she apparently decided she was a puppy instead of a goat. She's always ready for cuddles, loves, and any attention she can convince you to give her.

And if you aren't paying attention? Don't worry. She WILL yell until you are. 📢🤣

But there's something extra special about our girl.

When Ophelia was just a baby, she became terribly sick. So sick, in fact, that she needed a blood transfusion to survive. And her lifesaving donor?

A PYGMY GOAT! 🩸🐐

That's right. Our sweet Nubian girl is walking around with a little pygmy goat history in her veins. And we couldn't be more grateful that she's still here to tell the tale. ❤️

These days, Ophelia spends her time enjoying dirt baths, playing with all the kids, demanding affection, and eating her absolute FAVORITE treat...

She's sweet, she's loud, she's a little ridiculous, and she's one of the many reasons we love this life so much.

Our handmade goat-milk lotions are another favorite around here, and with cooler weather settling in, it's the perfect time to show them a little love!

We put just as much care into our lotions as we do our soaps, creating them in small batches right here at Crane Creek Homemade. 🐐

Some mornings are peaceful and quiet.

Just standing in the pasture, watching the cows and their babies soak up the first warm rays of sunshine, with the morning dew still glistening on their backs. ☀️

And some nights are long.

The kind where the sun has been down for hours, but we're still in the barn working cattle, tending to the herd, and making sure everything gets done.

That's the thing about farm life. It doesn't run on a clock, and it certainly doesn't care what time you're supposed to be in bed. 🤣

There are early mornings, late nights, tired feet, and plenty of dirty clothes.

But there are also moments of peace that make you stop and appreciate every bit of it.

Both sides are the heart of this farm. ❤️

Some nights, you just have to stop and admire the swirls. 😍

There's something about watching colors come together in a fresh batch of goat-milk soap that never gets old.

Tonight we're loving those moody ocean colors, soft rolling waves, and dramatic swirls that remind us of seafoam dancing across the water. 🌊🖤🤍

From the stormy, restless waters of High Tide to the warm, sun-kissed shores of Sand, Stone & Driftwood, these two creations bring a little bit of the coast right into our soap room.

One captures the mood of the sea, the other the warmth of the shore. And every swirl is a little piece of handmade art.

Because sometimes, the best part of making soap is simply stepping back and admiring what you've created. ❤️

Meet Sunday Lemon Cake, one of our newest goat-milk soap creations here at Crane Creek Homemade!

Inspired by the delicious scent of freshly baked lemon cake, this beauty has soft, buttery yellow and creamy white layers, with a little dried lemon slice on top. 🍰💛

It smells good enough to make you hungry! 🤣

She's currently enjoying her six-week curing vacation, but we couldn't resist showing her off a little early.

Who else loves a good lemon dessert? 🍋❤️

❤️ Heart of the Farm: The Working Dogs 🐾

There are a lot of hands that keep a working farm running—but some of the best ones have four paws.

We truly couldn't do what we do without our working dogs. They're our partners in the pasture, helping us move livestock, watching our backs, and making jobs that would be incredibly difficult on our own a whole lot easier.

Pickle and Triddy are the youngsters on the crew, and they're coming right along in their farm-work education. There's still plenty to learn (and occasionally plenty of chaos 😂), but watching their instincts develop and seeing them begin to understand their jobs is something pretty special.

A good working dog isn't just a tool on a farm. They're a teammate. You learn to read each other, trust each other, and eventually work together without needing to say much at all.

These two still have some school ahead of them—but we're awfully proud of the partners they're becoming. ❤️

🧼 Good things take time… especially handmade soap! 🐐❤️

Ever wonder why we don't sell our goat-milk soaps as soon as we make them?

Because good soap requires patience!

Here at Crane Creek Homemade, every batch of our cold-process goat-milk soap gets a minimum of SIX WEEKS to cure before it's ready to head home with you.

During that time, excess water slowly evaporates, creating a harder, longer-lasting bar of soap. That extra curing time makes a difference, and it's one step we refuse to rush!

So while our newest creations are resting on their curing shelves, we're already dreaming up the next batch. 🤣

Handmade with love, a little science, plenty of goat milk, and a whole lot of patience! ❤️

Around here, goat milk isn't just for skincare. 🐐❤️

Meet Fabio—our newest and possibly most enthusiastic member of the Crane Creek goat-milk fan club. 😂

When his mama needed a little help keeping up with his appetite, our dairy girls stepped in. Fresh goat milk has been helping keep this sweet boy's belly full, and judging by that face... Fabio approves. 🍼🐂

We spend a lot of time talking about goat milk in our soaps and lotions, but this is the other side of life at Crane Creek—the animals, the chores, the unexpected situations, and everybody pitching in when somebody needs a little extra help.

And lately, this little face has been one of our favorite parts of the day. ❤️
